We're certain that if your work computer isn't running a Mac, then it's running Windows, since despite the rise in Mac usage, Windows remains the most widely used operating system today. But why is this system choice relevant when it comes to interactive displays? The answer is simple: a Windows OPS on an interactive display combines the power of Windows with the familiarity of Android.
In this article, we'll outline the key reasons why choosing a Windows OPS can enhance your interactive display experience. Whether you're in education, a sector where interactivity can revolutionize learning, or in a professional environment where collaboration and efficiency are paramount, a Windows OPS can offer significant advantages.
What is an OPS PC?
An OPS (Open Pluggable Specification) is like a mini PC that slides into the edge of the interactive display, without cables. This system was developed by Intel specifically for interactive displays to eliminate the need for an external PC connected via cables to the display, and instead provide the interface directly through the mini PC integrated into the screen. It allows users to benefit from an interface in addition to the interactive display's operating system; for example, if your interactive display runs on Android, having an OPS PC with Windows allows you to also use the Windows operating system. Furthermore, this system has features comparable to a computer, such as a processor, memory, storage, and connectivity.

What are the advantages of a Windows OPS for interactive displays?
There are many advantages to integrating a Windows OPS into the interactive screen:
- Enjoy the familiarity of the Windows interface. In addition to the Android interface, you'll have the complete Windows environment, an interface that many users already know well. You'll find your usual workspace, only this time, it will be on a giant screen.
- Find all your usual applications. With the giant Windows interface, you will have quick and familiar access to all the applications you use daily, such as Microsoft Office for productivity, Zoom or Meet for your video conferences, as well as web browsers, media players, and many more.
- A Windows OPS offering more power. It significantly boosts the interactive display's performance with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of ROM. This storage capacity is ideal for situations where the display is frequently used by multiple users, as it provides ample space for storing large files, documents, presentations, and even applications.
- Highly compatible with our range of interactive displays. Our OPS are compatible with all SpeechiTouch interactive displays and feature connectivity options such as USB, HDMI, audio, and IR ports to ensure that all interactive display functionalities are fully utilized.
- You already have Iolaos software. Adding a Windows OPS to your shopping cart will give you an additional Iolaos license. Iolaos is a collaborative software that benefits both schools and businesses. It's an infinite whiteboard that allows you to create, share, and interact with content, facilitating collaboration within companies and enabling teachers to make their lessons more dynamic.

How to choose your OPS Windows for your SpeechiTouch interactive screen
To choose the right OPS module, you must first consider the type of interactive display you have. At Speechi, we offer two Windows OPS modules that differ in their processing power and compatibility with interactive displays.
The OPS i5 with 16GB RAM and 256GB ROM, a 2.5 GHz processor and an Intel HD graphics card is compatible with all SpeechiTouch interactive displays and SpeechiDisplay interactive displays except the 105-inch SuperGlass 3 range.
The OPS i5 is priced at €999 excluding VAT and includes a wireless keyboard for taking commands.
The OPS i7 has higher processing power with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of ROM, the same as the i5, but with a 2.7 GHz processor and a UHD graphics card, allowing for higher image quality on the screen. However, the OPS i7 is only compatible with the 105-inch SpeechiTouch SuperGlass 3 interactive display due to its large size.
